Alu Marine

The 24-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1152" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Alu Marine (Company)">Alu Marine</a> ketch Jaipur has been refitted and relaunched as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/14026" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Oceania24.0m (78'9&quot;)Alu Marine1991">Oceania</a> for <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7777" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Greenpeace Australia Pacific (Company)">Greenpeace</a>. The vessel, which was refitted by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5437" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="The Boat Works (Company)">The Boat Works</a> will be used by the environmental activist group for campaigning.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/319362/image/large-1d646d60e1564e9e08e048444ec25e3a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/319362">The relaunch and renaming took place earlier this week at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5437" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="The Boat Works (Company)">The Boat Works</a> facility in Coomera, on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The event was attended by David Ritter, CEO, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7777" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Greenpeace Australia Pacific (Company)">Greenpeace</a> Australia Pacific, as well as Greenpeace staff, volunteers and the Chapman team involved in her refit.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/319353/image/large-aec3bcfb9b43518fe0226e4c9b0b0256.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/319353">Previously named Jaipur, the yacht was discovered by Captain Daniel Rizzotti in Cannes, where he carried out sea trials and a thorough survey before purchase. He then sailed the vessel from France to Italy, before she was shipped to Singapore where a skeleton crew joined him to sail her to Australia. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/319366/image/large-31e807d2108bdab1f0a0d3157abc1d99.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/319366">From here Captain Daniel contacted yacht management and refit company <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5502" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Chapman Marine Group (Company)">Chapman</a>, to draw upon their project management expertise. The refit work was undertaken by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5437" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="The Boat Works (Company)">The Boat Works</a> and managed by Chapman Managing Director Sam Eyles.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/319356/image/large-969f5e078a3edb73dcaf07803734f5eb.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/319356">“I am proud of the Chapman team who put in so many hours around the clock to get the project completed within the deadline and to budget,” explained Sam Eyles. “It was a pleasure and privilege to work with Captain Daniel, whose knowledge, experience and input were highly valuable, and I look forward to continuing that relationship moving forward.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/319355/image/large-bc5c06d01f9d38636eea35023476f92b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/319355">During her seven-week refit, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/14026" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Oceania24.0m (78'9&quot;)Alu Marine1991">Oceania</a> saw her rigging removed and reinstalled, as well as a new through-hull bow thruster, helm with wheel and the latest electronics and navigation equipment. Alu Marine has launched the ketch Cosmoledo. This sailboat measures 33 metres, and is 26 feet wide. However, when her bowsprit will be added, her total length will be 40.47 meters.
