With over a hundred years of history, VBH has not just established themselves as a leader in superyacht technology, but also as an expert in technological innovation.History of
innovation
The story of VBH begins long before the company's official establishment in 1985. It started back in 1919, when J.P. van Berge Henegouwen opened an electrical store in Leiden1,
focusing on light and heating installations. When J.P. passed away at just 40 years of age, Marie, his wife continued the business, supported by their sons, Loe and Jacques van

During World War II, communication equipment was banned by the occupying forces and their entire shop inventory was confiscated. The family survived by repairing radios for
farmers, often being paid in butter, potatoes, and wheat. After the war, sons Loe and Jacques rebuilt the business and, in the 50s, expanded to television sales and antenna
installations.

ARES Yachts' brand new fleet addition, Spitfire, has officially entered its molding phase. Named after a famous, historical British fighter aircraft: the Supermarine Spitfire, the
51-metre superyacht is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
At the drawing board, it was decided that Spitfire should be designed by three defining pillars: speed, lightweight construction, and iconic proportions. ARES’ goal with Spitfire

Spitfire’s interior and exterior design are by Bannenberg & Rowell Design, while Lateral Naval Architects did her naval architecture. The combined forces created a contemporary,
military-inspired aesthetic through smooth forms, metallic textures, and bold glass bands.

Spotted last Sunday leaving Poole, United Kingdom, was the newly-delivered 100-metre superyacht Pi. Handed over to her owners last week and now en route to Gibraltar on her maiden
voyage, she stands out as Feadship's latest flagship. Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, Pi features exterior design by Jarkko Jämsén of Aivan, while naval
architecture was developed in-house by De Voogt Naval Architects. Her profile is characterised by a near-vertical bow and sweeping, understated lines that run cleanly from bow to
stern, giving her a powerful silhouette.Although details remain closely guarded, the 2,985 GT superyacht showcases a cascading aft staircase that flows down to an enlarged swim
platform, providing direct access to the sea. With construction beginning in 2021 and her hull and superstructure joined in 2023, Pi is one of the most notable Northern European
deliveries of the year.
